American League Champions!

I don’t follow the baseball as closely as I used to, after years living away from New England, but I’m nevertheless pleased to see that in the ALCS against the Indians the Red Sox won Game Six 12-2 and Game Seven 11-2 and are now their way to the World Series against the Colorado Rockies. (Go, Sox.)

  1. Game Seven was a lot of fun to watch. With the Sox ahead by only one run in the 7th, a miscue between Ramirez in left and Lugo at short seemed like a potential Bucky Dent moment, but Lofton’s failure to score from 2nd got the Sox out of the inning alive — and then they started swinging. A nice mixture of nail-biting anxiety and crowd-pleasing slugging.
