His name, if not his teachings, are well known to legal scholars in the US for his involvement in a law suit after his visa to come lecture in the US was denied because he “advocated world revolution” or the like. It’s an interesting case though with an unfortunate result- basically that the US government can use ideological grounds to deny a visa and that the interests of citizens in meeting with people so denied does not give them standing to challenge the denial.
