Three Years of Dead Socialists

Tomorrow, the Dead Socialist Watch enters its fourth year, with the last twelve months seeing the commemoration of Dead Socialists #129-179 for the first time, as well as a number of repeat appearances from earlier cycles. We’ll start again tomorrow, with Number One Dead Socialist, Robert Owen.

The Watch continues to go from strength to strength. Andrew at Bloggers4Labour turned the whole thing into a nice little sidebar feature that anyone can have posted on their own site; and, with imitation being the sincerest form of flattery, a Dead Botanist Watch briefly appeared over at newish blog, Trees for Labour.

All of which brings me on to my annual call for More Dead Socialists: please send me the names of those you’d like to see celebrated in the Annals of Dead Socialists, in order to broaden and deepen the collection. Last year’s appeal netted three dozen names – not all of whom, admittedly, have yet appeared – and it’d be good to have a similar new crop this time around.
