I would observe though that if it’s salyclic acid you’re after, there are better ways to get it than the gland at the base of a beaver’s tail, which I won’t say anything more about either. There are willow leaves, the traditional source of the chemical in question — but wait: willows grow near water, so you won’t have any. The beavers will have eaten them all.
