Recommendations, Please

I keep thinking I should buy another recording of Carmen to sit on the shelf alongside my old 1978 Abbado / Berganza / Domingo / LSO recording. Any thoughts? Preferences? Anti-recommendations?

    Well, mine’s the 1983 Baltsa / Carreras / Von Karajan / BPO recording, on the Deutsche Grammophon label. It’s the only version I have (apart from a crappy CD that came free with a magazine about a decade ago), so I can’t give a comparative view - but I love love love this recording. La Fleur Que Tu M’avais Jetee is breathtakingly good.
