One of the best things about living in Oxford is that the Welsh National Opera pass through twice a year. Their productions are usually great fun, and Friday’s performance of Il Trovatore was no exception. For those who missed the show, however, here’s Verdi’s masterpiece abridged and performed in Lego:

  1. Four acts: must be hard work watching, let alone performing. I was listening to Aida on Radio Clásica last night: started before eight and went on until midnight…

  2. Oh, each Act is quite short. It’s not on anything like a Wagnerian scale. Eact Act contains two scenes, so I think it’s almost always performed these days as first four scenes – interval – last four scenes.
