I’m delighted to say that someone is letting off fireworks in North Oxford, which I am assuming is in honour of Bastille Day. Vive la RÃ©publique!

I’m so glad i’m old enough to refuse to acompany my mother to Bastille Parties with all her horrid ex-pat French friends, being forced to eat disgusting pastries and sing La Marseillaise, the words to which i have repressed as part of a psychological coping mechanism.
