“She cut an unusual figure in The Times newsroom, wearing blue jeans, going barefoot and bringing in her dog, whose name was an expletive. ”

I highly recommend Molly Ivins Can’t Say That, Can She? – the first anthology of her writing published in the early 1990s. Very sharp and laugh out loud funny at the same time.
In case anyone was wondering, the “sexually suggestive phrase” about the community chicken filling festival that led to here departure from the New York Times was ‘gang pluck’.
